Configure TFTPD on Debian Lenny

aptitude install tftpd

Have a look at inetd.conf to get more details about TFTPD:

cat /etc/inetd.conf

You will get TFTPD path /srv/tftp/:

/srv/tftp/

I have found tftpd package doesn’t support GRUB4DOS well. I’ve changed to tftpd-hpa.

If you have been installed tftpd package, remove it first:

aptitude purge tftp tftpd

And then install tftpd-hpa package

aptitude install tftp-hpa tftpd-hpa

Have a look at inetd.conf for more details:

cat /etc/inetd.conf

TFTPD path:

/var/lib/tftpboot

It supports soft symbol-links very well, so:

rmdir /var/lib/tftpboot
mkdir /home/tftpboot/
ln -s /home/tftpboot/ /var/lib/tftpboot

Enjoy your “/home/tftpboot/” folder as TFTPD service.
